Mudeford Sailing Club

WELCOME TO THE GALLEY  - 2010

We hope you all enjoy the Christmas break with lots of presents including the very special one of a 2010 Mudeford Sailing Club calendar with all the spectacular local photographs. In this you will have a preview of our racing days during the year ahead.

However, once you have paid your club subscription for 2010 (which you can do painlessly and socially on Paying-in Day on Saturday morning 9th January at Stanpit Hall – light refreshments available!) you will be given a copy of the racing calendar which will show your OOD and safety boat duties.

In the New Year we will be compiling the galley roster for 2010 and it will be very helpful to us if you are able to let us know in good time whether you have any preferred dates for doing your galley duty (or any dates when you know you cannot help out).

We all know that our galley is very popular and a good earner but of course we need the providers. Anybody new to the club will be teamed up with someone who knows the ropes, so that she or he (we don’t mind what sex you are!) is not alone.

For further information, feel free to contact us.

Don’t forget, sailors who do galley, OOD and safety duties earn average points in their racing results.

And don’t forget that we will again be offering the galley tab to make payment easier, but remember, you put the money in first!

Sat 10 July  ??

Gardens Open Day 14.00 pm onward? Several of us (relatively keen) gardeners thought of opening our gardens to other members and their friends with the idea of all ending up in one of the gardens for cream tea. (Like the yellow book but very low key and informal – so don’t panic).  The gardens will all be within walking distance of each other, therefore need to be around Mudeford.  We already have several volunteers but need more both for gardens and to help out with cream teas – if you would like to join in please contact one of the social team.  The garden doesn’t have to be large or “perfect”.  It can be a “project”, before and/or after, or just your own piece of green heaven to sit in the sun - anything. It is just a fun afternoon for all us gardeners with a bit of fund raising thrown in!

Fri 23 Jul Evening River Trip to rowing club

Departing MSC jetty at 7 pm in “Topcat” and “Dabchick” and ending up at the Christchurch Rowing Club for a drink.  We return after dark so don’t forget to bring a torch, and of course your lifejacket. (and waders?? – Ed)
